98G White - In the State Cup Finals!

The Gryphons 98 Girls White team wrapped up an impressive weekend of soccer Dec 6th, beating Diablo FC Dragons 5-1 in the NorCal Quarter Finals, and beating Castro Valley United 3-0 in the NorCal Semi Finals. The wins put the team in the NorCal Finals (Gold Bracket) on Dec 20th against Delta Youth Soccer League Dynamite.

The 98G White placed second in the Gold Finals in 2008, losing in penalty kicks to Santa Clara Sporting. Coach Ricardo Marta, Jr., stated he is proud of the girls, but emphasized that reaching the NorCal Super Bracket next year is the ultimate goal for the team. "Getting to the NorCal State Cup Gold Finals is a success we coaches, parents, and players are very excited and proud of, but we remain very motivated to get to the "Super" division in the upcoming years," Marta, Jr. said.
