Coaches’ Code
The Gryphons coaching staff abides by a code of conduct that focuses on the best interest of each player. Gryphons soccer programs strive to inspire participants with the fundamental principles of teamwork and fair play, while still focusing on development and fun. Below is a set of principles the staff follows.
- Abide by the vision, strategic direction, rules, policies, and procedures of the Club.
- Develop the players to the best of their abilities.
- Teach with positive reinforcement and create a safe learning environment.
- Treat players, parents and referees with respect and conduct oneself in a professional manner.
- Refrain from making negative comments to any players, referees, coaches, or parents.
- Develop positive lifeskills (i.e. discipline, teamwork, etc.) in players.
- Respect the game officials and their decisions. Be cordial with opponents, and show good sportsmanship at all times.
- Assume responsibility for the actions of players and parents on the field.
- Do not discriminate against anyone.
- Provide honest and truthful evaluations of the player’s skill.
