Gryphons Team Up to Help Families in Need

Gryphons 98G and 99B players and families donated food for Thanksgiving food baskets for families at the Shelter Network. The players and families then distributed the baskets to families at the Redwood Family House in Redwood City. The Redwood Family House provides safe transitional housing and support services for homeless families.

Coach Ric wrote a touching thank you note to the parents:

Gryphons 98G White/Black Families & 99B,

Words can't describe the appreciation, and no amount of thank you's are enough for the incredible support and effort our 98G family has given to the clients of Redwood Family House. Our clients here at Redwood Family House were all so excited and thankful for the Thanksgiving baskets our age group provided to all these families. Believe me, it makes their current situation a little less stressful, especially around the holidays.

I think we would have been equally thankful for just 10 baskets, but to raise 39 Thanksgiving baskets within a week, it's out of this world. I want to thank everyone who donated and the girls for taking the time to put together these baskets. I want to send a special thank you, to Debbie Harrison, Jennifer Garcia, Helen Bowen and Lisa Samuels for taking this project and organizing the effort, as well as coming to the Redwood Family House site and delivering the baskets, THANK YOU SO MUCH!!

We accomplished getting the Redwood Family House clients, a thanksgiving dinner that they will enjoy. But I also wanted this to be something that our girls took in, and value the meaning of family, giving to someone who's in need, and to appreciate all they have in life. And they demonstrated this. Thank you girls!!!

On behalf of the Redwood Family House Staff and Famiies, I want to thank you once again!!!

Coach Ric
