The Gryphons Soccer Club (GSC) is a non-profit organization (Tax Id # 94-3213657) that promotes competitive soccer for youth ages 8 through 18 on the San Francisco Peninsula in California. GSC has over 22 teams in the U8-U13 age groups, each playing in the Norcal Premier Soccer league, a US Club sanctioned league serving teams in Northern California. The Gryphons combine this with various programs, starting from the youngest of ages, for 3-8 yr olds, to provide opportunities to develop love for the game and the skills to excel.

Player Development

GSC is dedicated to the development of a player's skills, sportsmanship, self confidence, and ability to work on a team. We strive to create an environment where players develop their soccer abilities while enjoying themselves and learning to love the best game on the planet! For Gryphons players, this environment is challenging and inspiring. It is also fun! A core goal is to prepare them for the future, both on and off the field.

We focus on teaching our players soccer fundamentals including technical and tactical skills like ball handling, passing, receiving, and positioning. Coaches

GSC is committed to providing the best soccer educators and programs to ensure that players have a solid foundation upon which they can improve and develop. Each GSC team is coached by nationally licensed professional coaches, the majority of whom have played soccer at the college level, and many of whom have played soccer internationally. Club Management

Since the Club was founded in 1992, we have grown both in numbers as well as in team and individual achievements. We have 15 coaches, a part-time Director of Coaching, and a full-time Director of Programs. As an organization, we are a volunteer-led non-profit business. We have professional business processes, a very hard-working board, and a dedicated and enthusiastic parent-base that is always willing to help, be it with fund-raising, marketing, or website development. Community Outreach

The GSC encourages players, coaches, and families to initiate and contribute to initiatives that benefit the community, knowing they can count on our support. We strongly believe giving back to the community is an essential part of the learning process for our young players. • Additional weekly striker and goal keeper training, included in regular club fees
• A youth development program offering 3 to 8 year olds age-appropriate training taught by professional coaches
• A winter program, open to Gryphons and non-Gryphons players, featuring a training component as well as 40-minute weekend games that keep players in shape during the off season
• A summer program, open to Gryphons and non-Gryphons players, to allow players to stay in shape in-between playing seasons.
• Selected by NorCal Premier Soccer as one of the pilot ACF Fiorentina 'partner' clubs. The club is committed to implementing a curriculum that focuses on psychomotor skills and coordination abilitites, especially at younger age groups
• Implementation of iSoccer-assisted individual player development through assessment of fundamental skills and subsequent video-guided instruction outside practice hours
• Addition of Coerver training focusing on individual skills development and small-group play that develops the ability to win the ball during 1-on-1 tackles and other game situations
• Partner in the Adidas Alliance, which provides accelerated training opportunities for 9-11 year old players as part of the Adidas Junior Training Program.
• Implementation of clearly defined technical and tactical progressions
• Age group approach rather than team centric approach provides Gryphons' families the opportunity to gradually get into soccer as a family commitment without peer pressure
• Regular player selection into the Norcal Player Development Program (PDP) training pools and team rosters, as well as the Olympic Development Program (ODP), for highly skilled players.
