98G White - NorCal State Cup Gold Champions!

Our 98 Girls White team secured an exciting State Cup win against Delta Youth Soccer League Dynamite on December 20, 2009. The girls played an intense game and this was a hard-fought victory for them. The coaching staff and parents are very proud of the girls for their efforts and hard work throughout the 2009 season.

The Gryphons went up 3-0 within 15 minutes in the 1st half. The game then took an interesting turn. Dynamite scored 2 goals, making the score 3-2 at half-time.  Our girls continued to put pressure throughout the second half. With less than a minute left in the game, the game went into sudden death when Dynamite scored again to tie 3-3. After a couple of attempts at the Dynamite goal side, the Gryphons finally scored the winning goal with a cross from our left mid-fielder to our right-midfielder who then struck the ball on one touch.
